Valéry Arnoul co-founded Liberty’s Burger in 2019. As the founder and manager of a chain of restaurants, a typical day for him involves managing orders, deliveries, the kitchen, service, etc.

Liberty’s Burger – some figures:

  • Three outlets: 1 restaurant and 2 dark kitchens in the Paris region
  • Turnover of €500,000 in 2020 (turnover generated by a store)
  • 300 burgers per day
  • 75% deliveries
  • Twenty-odd supplier invoices per month, worth approximately €15,000

Liberty’s burger, “always plump for you”

Liberty’s Burger combines artisanal products and an unapologetic love of food based on the fast and casual concept. In addition to its highly gourmet burgers at affordable prices, Liberty’s Burger is keen to work with artisans for its most essential products.

The bread, for instance, comes from a burger bun specialist based in the Val-de-Marne region. A butcher in the Limousine region delivers the meat every other day. And the chips are homemade.

A short supply channel was made possible near the Aligre market (Paris, 12th arrondissement). The raw vegetables come directly from farmers who go to Rungis market every morning.

Before Libeo: obsolete and time-consuming processes

For restaurant owners, tracking supplier invoices is quite tedious: you have to check the paper invoice, log on to your bank’s personal space for each transfer, make sure that each cheque payment leaves on time, etc.

Before Libeo, Valéry used several archaic solutions that involved a multitude of very time-consuming steps:

  • Scanning the invoices,
  • Logging on to the bank,
  • Filling in information by hand and several times over,
  • Communicating with accountants,
  • Performing multiple checks to avoid errors on the amount or the date of transfer, etc.

With Libeo, Valéry can now send one-click payments to his suppliers. It has considerably simplified his relationship with them, and it facilitates sharing information with his accountant. Valéry managed to reduce the time he spent managing supplier invoices by two thirds every week.

“In addition to making payments so much easier by doing away with so many intermediary steps, Libeo provides an exact overview of flows on a per-supplier, per-date and per-category basis”.

Libeo, an obvious choice for liberty’s burger right from its launch

When he was gearing up to launch Liberty’s Burger, Valéry shared office space with Libeo’s founding team. It allows him to witness the launch of the platform and its first developments. Accustomed to managing the accounts of several restaurants, he quickly understood all the power of Libeo!

As soon as his first restaurant opened in Aligre, Valéry was keen for his suppliers to use Libeo. And everyone was quick to adopt it!

Of all Libeo’s features, here are Valéry’s two favourites:

  • Accounting exports are straightforward and allow all information to be sent to the accountant at the end of the month quickly and reliably.
  • Payment on a specific date means flexibility regarding payment deadlines.

It’s an essential tool for good accounting practices, and it has given momentum to digitalisation in a fast-changing business sector.

“I also use Libeo as a sort of large digital folder where everything is easy to find: I can track the price of a kilo of carrots from such and such a supplier, as well as checking an address or a payment history.”

Digitalised processes that improve profitability

Digitalising processes means that costs can be tracked more accurately, directly impacting profitability. Valéry can quickly identify differences or possible increases with immediate access to all digitised invoices.

Another bottleneck in the catering sector: tracking and sending information to the accounting firm. Libeo turns this very time-consuming task into a straightforward workflow with accountants. It also indirectly frees up the manager’s time – he can fully devote himself to developing his business. It made a massive difference for Liberty’s Burger when they opened a franchised dark kitchen in the 9th arrondissement while owning another one in Aubervilliers.

“We know we can count on Libeo to support us as we grow since it has already helped us so much!
